Tragedy Hits as Inadvertent Blast at Law Enforcement Facility in Kashmir Region Under Indian Control Claims Nine Fatalities
A catastrophic explosion at a law enforcement facility in Indian-administered Kashmir has resulted in the loss of nine individuals and wounding to thirty-two more, according to authority reports.
The event occurred when a collection of confiscated explosives accidentally blew up during handling procedures.

The blast happened on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam law enforcement facility, where explosive materials seized from Faridabad region in the northern territory of Haryana state were being held provisionally.
Local law enforcement head declared that the explosives were pending forensic examination when a "extremely tragic" mishap during handling caused their explosion at approximately 23:20 in the evening.
Police Declarations
Law enforcement officials asserted that this was an "inadvertent blast" and not a terror incident. "Different conjectures regarding the origin of this incident is unnecessary," stressed the security director during a journalist meeting.
The law enforcement facility experienced significant harm from the detonation, with neighboring structures also being affected by the powerful blast.
Impact and Casualties
Numerous cars were "covered in blaze and turned into burned shells, with debris scattered across the site," according to official reports.
"The intensity of the explosion was so extreme that some human remains were recovered from close-by residences, approximately 100-200 metres away the law enforcement facility," reported an official source.
The bulk of the fatalities were police officers, along with forensic personnel, two crime scene photographers, and a tailor who was with the team.
Government Response
The region's Regional Leader expressed sympathies and announced that an inquiry had been commissioned into the catastrophic occurrence.
"I have directed a investigation to determine the reason of the accidental explosion. Extremely pained by the death of valuable individuals due to extremely tragic inadvertent detonation at Nowgam police station in the Srinagar area. My condolences to the mourning loved ones. I wish for rapid recuperation of the harmed," stated the official on digital platforms.
