The Hit Drama Announced for Seventh Series on the British Broadcaster
The acclaimed police drama Line of Duty will make a comeback for its 7th season, announced by the BBC.
An upcoming six-part season written by the show's creator starts production in Northern Ireland in the coming months, according to the network.
The actress expressed excitement about the comeback, stating she was "so excited" about the show's renewal. Her co-star remarked, "What a joy it is to know that the Three Amigos will be reuniting together next year."
The previous series wrapped up in recent years with a finale that attracted more than 17 million viewers. Speculation about a potential return have been widespread for some time, but confirmation only came recently.
New Challenges for AC-12
Series seven will open with AC-12 having been disbanded and renamed as the Inspectorate of Police Standards, according to production details.
Martin Compston's character, Kate Fleming, and Ted Hastings continue working to combat misconduct within the police force.
Their work "faces unprecedented challenges", and under these circumstances, the trio are assigned their "most sensitive case to date."
Fresh Face and Intricate Plot
A new character, DI Dominic Gough, portrayed as a charming officer known for busts of organized crime, is accused of misusing his authority to become a offender.
