Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the international break, however can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a range of guests.
In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
A family member told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.
Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
The away side's display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.
However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
