'Our Mission Is Solely Executing' - The Way Sudan's Brutal Paramilitary Group Perpetrated a Massacre

Militiamen laugh as they travel on the bed of a transport truck, racing past a line of nine dead bodies and heading towards the sinking Sudan's evening sky.

"Observe all this effort. Observe this act of genocide," one cheers.

The fighter smiles as he turns the video equipment on his own face and his associate combatants, their paramilitary badges on display: "The victims shall all die this way."

The men are celebrating a atrocity that aid workers suspect resulted in the deaths of over thousands of people in the Sudan's metropolis of el-Fasher last month.

An Urban Center Severed from the Globe

Following their control of the community under siege for nearly an extended period, from late summer the RSF moved to strengthen its control and restrict the leftover inhabitants.

Orbital photography show that troops started to erect a immense sand wall - a built-up dirt embankment - encircling the perimeter of al-Fashir, blocking access routes and blocking relief supplies.

While the blockade intensified, 78 people were murdered in an RSF attack on a place of worship on mid-September, while the United Nations said 53 more were killed in drone and heavy weapon strikes on a refugee settlement in fall.

Disturbing Footage Shows Defenseless People Gunned Down

In the early morning on late October the militia conquered the last government positions and seized the main compound in the urban area, the main facility of the 6th Infantry Division, as the government forces retreated.

Among the most horrific footage to appear and studied revealed the results of a massacre at a educational facility on the western of the community, where scores dead bodies were observed spread across the ground.

An older person dressed in a traditional garment sat isolated surrounded by the corpses. The individual turned to gaze as a combatant armed with a weapon moved down the steps in the direction of him. Raising his firearm, the shooter discharged a one shot at the individual, who fell to the surface motionless.

"Why is this individual still alive," a militiaman cried. "Shoot him."

Satellite images taken on late October indicated to substantiate that killings were also carried out on the roads of el-Fasher, according to a study issued by the academic research center.

An observer who spoke reported the individual had observed "many of our kin being massacred - the victims were assembled in a single location and everyone murdered."

Militia Commanders Try to Conduct Reputation Management

Following the events that came after the massacre, paramilitary commander conceded that his forces had committed "violations" and stated the occurrences would be investigated.

Part of the detained was subsequent to a report recording his killings. Meticulously orchestrated and produced footage published on the militia's authorized messaging account show the individual being taken into a cell at a jail on the edges of the city.

At the same time, the paramilitary force and connected online accounts started seeking to alter the account.

Content depicting its militiamen handing out assistance to civilians were shared by various accounts, while the force's public relations unit shared numerous videos purporting to display the compassionate handling of army detainees.

Despite the online initiative being used by the paramilitary, their activities in al-Fashir have sparked global anger.
