We begin with inquiries from Conservative MP the panel's head, who chairs the panel.
She initiates by providing context to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.
"It is not my wish for the BBC leaning toward one side or the other, My only wish is for it straight, impartial and equitable," he says.
In response to a query if he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, he answers: "Absolutely not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation does is world class - including informative and non-factual shows."
But he adds: "There exists substantial tasks that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
Another previous consultant BBC consultant interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she views the BBC extremely earnestly and that it operates a "persistent practice and vigorous discourse" on fluid and multifaceted issues.
"Was the BBC prepared to engage in a thorough dialogue and debate and take action?" she questions. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
