Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who featured in beloved programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, according to reports.
"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
